This one is a follow-up to my previous blog on “What if money wasn’t the problem”. We spoke about how money is a limitation in our lives instead of the joy that it can be. We touched upon the different limitations and judgements that keep us stuck, in the no-receiving zone, which creates so much resentment and hate towards the creation and receiving of money and abundance. This blog aims at giving you 5 easy hacks to cultivate healthy financial habits.

It is important to have an awareness about your judgements around money. That is half the battle won. The way to seek awareness is through questions. For eg: what will it take for me to create X amount of money? What are my limiting points of views on money? What is stopping the flow of money from coming to me?

Financial habits

This article expands on the 5 positive habits to cultivate to create the financial reality you wish for.

Let’s dive straight into it….

1. Save 10% of every dollar you create..

This is a concept some or most of you will be familiar with. Tithing 10 per cent of your income is taught in many spiritual schools. Tithing is considered as a charity which is usually given to someone else. The difference here is, that you have to Tithe to yourself. What that means is, you put away 10 % of your gross income and pay yourself. This is an honoring account for you. This is the amount that you will put away and NEVER spend.

This may seem a little far-fetched and difficult for people who are already struggling with their finances. But choosing to do this is imperative in changing this situation.

This changes how you view money and how the energy of money views you. When we receive our paycheck or profit from our business, we usually pay our bills/credit cards or re-invest in our business. By doing this you are telling the universe that you like to give away money, and don’t like to keep it. Instead, if you start paying yourself first, before paying anyone else or any bill, you are telling the universe that you honor yourself and you like to have money.

The universe responds by sending you more money where it’s welcome: to your savings account. The intention is very important for this to work. If you do it just because someone told you to do it, or because you read it here it won’t work. You have to truly want to honor yourself by putting the money away and have an equal commitment NOT to spend it. You have to love the money you make and love to keep it.

Never spend the 10% honoring money

Beg, borrow or steal, but just don’t spend this 10% honoring money. If at any point you find yourself using that money, go over and start again. Don’t beat yourself up and don’t go into judgement of how wrong you are. Judgement only creates limitations and no choices.

If you are thinking, why should I save if I can’t spend it eventually, then you are exactly the kind of person who needs to implement this practice the most. If the only reason you want money is to spend it, you will never really have money. The only way to create wealth is to be willing to HAVE it. This exercise creates the willingness to HAVE MONEY

2. Carry money like a rich person in your wallet….

If you were rich, how much cash would you carry at all times? How much money would you have?

The amount of money a wealthy individual carries is the sum you should always have with you, excluding credit or debit cards. You must keep physical cash on hand, allowing you to see and feel it every time you open your wallet for payment. If you’re wondering how to accumulate this cash, when a shortage of cash is your problem in the first place, you can use your 10% honoring money to build up this reserve.

Again, the key is never to spend it. If you keep it in your wallet in front of your spending money, you will be reminded you have money every time you open your wallet. This will instill a sense of confidence and security within you, similar to the demeanor of a wealthy individual. Make sure you have some spending money behind it so you don’t have to spend your honor money.

3. Know exactly what it costs you to live each month…

Calculate to the penny how much you spend on necessities, but also on things that make life worth living such as entertainment, self-improvement, and vacations, as well as the 10 % you’re saving.

You have to know how much you require in order to know what to request from the universe, and most of us underestimate our requirements. How can you ask the universe to send you what you really require if you don’t know what that amount is?

   4. Never use the statement “I can’t afford it”..

Money will come if you want it. Using negative words and statements resists the flow of money and abundance towards you. When you make a negative statement like “I can’t afford it”, what you are really saying is ” I don’t have the means to create money for it and I never will”. It becomes a conclusion in your reality.

Next time you see something that you like and check the price tag ask yourself ” how can I have this? How can I create the money to have this? If you know the feeling of what it would be like to have those things, you will be more likely to do what it takes to receive it. Being in the question allows you to create new possibilities which statements like “I can’t afford it” take away from you.

5. Say bye to credit and debt..

Debt and credit are both forms of enslavement. Some people confuse the ability to borrow money with having wealth. While credit is certainly useful in certain situations, it is not the same as wealth—it is only the ability to create debt.

Calculate how many hours/ jobs and years will it take for you to clear your debt and then do what it takes to clear it off. Staying in debt will create more debt. The minute you stress about the debt and paying it off, the more it will persist in your reality. It is vicious circle that is sometimes impossible for people to get out of. And the same goes for credit.

Follow your awareness..

Educate yourself about stocks, collectable cars and real estate and different forms of financial investments that can multiply your money. The more you know, the easier it is to create more.

The world is changing, and what is considered real and valuable is changing. Keep yourself informed and abreast of new opportunities to create wealth.

Ask questions! Most financial advisors of all kinds have their own interests at heart, not yours. Your own awareness is the key to your own financial survival and success.

So what are you choosing today?
